Verified Purchase. This book makes an excellent reference to keep near by. These 3D creation applications are deep and convoluted so a reference manual is a must and this is a good one for 3DS Max. I suggest owning a copy and keeping it within reach. Although it is great for learning the application as well as a reference, I think there are better ones out there for learning, but this is the best reference I have seen for this application.
If you want to learn 3DS Max, you can do it with this book; however, as I mentioned already, there are better options. The student version has identical features to the full version, but is only for single use and cannot be installed on a network.
